These sheep evolved an ultra-fine wool that cooled them down in the heat and warmed them up in the cold. Merino sheep were later brought to New Zealand, another extreme climate where they thrived. Today, the finest and most sustainably sourced merino wool in the world comes from New Zealand. This is where Avala’s origin story began.
